About

Stockholm, Sweden, 2018

I’m Alex and I’ve been traveling independently since I was 20. I’ve studied abroad, worked abroad and have managed to amble around a total of 38 countries to date.

Several years ago, a friend asked what I had to show for all my travels; I didn’t have a career, a husband, a family, or a fat bank account. So what did I have?

Well…a full lifetime’s worth of experiences in just a couple decades. Memories spanning from the Middle East to Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. Having lived in Dublin, Ireland and Foshan, China. Friends on every continent and family from all over the world. The ability to speak Italian conversationally, Spanish haltingly and Mandarin Chinese terribly. And a stomach of steel (that took a while to build to.)

Five years after my friend asked that question, and many countries later, I’m still not done. I’m navigating the world of the 9-5, but I’m still finding time to travel every chance I get.

And I may not yet have a big bank account or a family of my own. I might not have the typical 30-something life. But I have a whole lot of memories to show for all the planes, trains and automobiles I’ve been on. And I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
